Our courses are taught through a dynamic combination of classroom instruction, hands-on workshops, and immediate experience.
The approach is holistic, ensuring that students understand and experience all aspects of the subject they are studying to gain the flexibility and skills they will need as aspiring professionals. The experience they gain in the many collaborative roles that are required to produce great work will be of immeasurable value to them as photographers, fashion photographers, directors, actors, writers, producers, editors, cinematographers, animators, or any other path they choose.

YOUR CAREER STARTS HERE
&
WE MAKE PROJECTS FOR YOU
The visual system defines the unique and proprietary assets that bring the brand platform to life.

MAKE YOUR
WEB SERIES
We are proud to say that "We are the first film school to produce a web series for film students."
We'll train students to make a web series in the last two months of the semester. So by the time they will graduate from DFA, they can go anywhere & show their work from OTT platforms, this means students don't have to struggle after their 1 Year Diploma.
In 12 months you will graduate with:
A diploma in Film Making & Photography
A compilation of your work for your demo reel
A web series made by you.
Attain industry connections that will help guide your career.
Students explore the possibilities of storytelling, giving you both the narrative craft and visual techniques necessary to bring a story to life on the screen.
Expand your range of filmmaking techniques while you learn to work on larger sets and co-create with outside writers.
Combine cutting edge techniques, like visual effects, with ingenuity to solve production challenges.
Dedicate your time and energy to final projects and high-quality web series films that will form the basis of your professional reel.
Complete the filming of all final projects, and focus on employment preparation and advanced electives.

DIRECTION
A film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualizes the screenplay (or script) while guiding the film crew and actors. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design and all the creative aspects of filmmaking. A film director's task is to envisage a way to translate a screenplay into a fully formed film, and then to realize this vision. To do this, they oversee the artistic and technical elements of film production. This entails organizing the film crew in such a way to achieve their vision of the film and communicating with the actors. This requires skills of group leadership, as well as the ability to maintain a singular focus even in the stressful, fast-paced environment of a film set. Moreover, it is necessary to have an artistic eye to frame shots and to give precise feedback to the cast and crew, thus, excellent communication skills are a must.

SCRIPT WRITING
Whether you are shooting a film, television show, or web series, the script is the backbone of any production. Without a shooting script, actors, directors, and producers are unable to set up the necessary elements to bring a production to life.
However, to complete a screenplay, one must understand the structure, character, plot elements, and the proper format—facets of screenwriting that are learned, not intuited.
As such, the Delhi Film Academy prepares students to master the fundamentals of writing scripts while gaining an intimate knowledge of the elements that help a script go from page to screen.

ART DIRECTION
Sets, props, and graphics all work to create the visual identity of a film and help immerse audiences into the world presented before them. The Art Director design sets, oversee artists and construction workers and help determine the overall look of film production. During pre-production, the art director acts as a liaison between the production designer and the construction crew. When principal photography begins, they report to the set and keep the production designer informed of how the look is coming to life.

DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKING
Documentary filmmaking is any non-fiction video or film that informs the viewers about a real-life topic, person, event, or issue. Some documentary films provide us with educational information about things that aren’t well known. Others tell detailed stories about important people and/or events. Whatever subject you choose, filming a documentary can be a serious understanding.

PRODUCT
VIDEOS
Lighting techniques. With lighting tools and reflectors, you can create a high-quality montage for product videos. Learn how to use studio lights and where to place them. Next, you’ll learn how to create more depth using lights, cutters, & reflectors.
The combination of studio lights, set-up, & products provides students with the creative and technical knowledge to create a product video. Moreover, the Delhi Film Academy provides a studio for One Year Diploma students to make their product videos for their portfolios.

GAFFER
Gaffer works closely with the Director of Photography to bring to life the overall look of a film by creating and controlling light. Gaffer requires an in-depth understanding of circuits, power supplies, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning, and more.

CINEMATOGRAPHY
Cinematography is the craft of visual storytelling on film or television. It consists of everything that you see on the screen – framing, movement, lighting, composition, camera angles, lens, color, depth, and more. It is important in setting the tone, look and feel of a video, essentially, supporting the written narrative of the film with visual elements. Also known as the Director of Photography, a Cinematographer is the master of movement and light, responsible for how every single frame in the film turns out.

EQUIPMENT HANDLING
&
STUDIO
EQUIPMENT
Equipped with motors and sensors, a gimbal is a device that allows your digital camera to rotate smoothly along an axis. These days, 3-axis gimbals are the most common type.
They stabilise your camera while you tilt, pan, and roll and help you to film fluid, smooth footage while you’re on the move.

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY
Event Cinematography is an essential part of the six-month diploma program. It is important for a cinematographer to be able to show
diverse skills in various genres of photography. To give our students
hands-on experience in event Cinematography we have partnered
with production houses & fashion week shows in Delhi.
The students get the chance to cover events like fashion shows,
college fest, international sports events, IIFD & many more. Event
The cinematography makes the students learn the art of being able to
capture the moments of any happening and tell a story from it.

YOUR VISION YOUR WAY
This course covers procedures and techniques for picture and audio editing using non-linear editing software. Students create their own projects and begin an exploration of editing theory and aesthetics. Using footage from the short story project, students apply editing concepts in a valuable hands-on introduction to the art of constructing a dramatic scene. Students learn the basics of visual effects editing, colour correction and titling, and examine the concepts and possibilities related to sound design for drama.
Whether you’re editing a video for social media or a blockbuster film, Premiere Pro can help you craft your story with tools that just make sense. Import and edit, add effects and export footage to any destination. It’s got everything you need for anything you want to create.
The elements consist of picture editing, visual effects, titles and credits, post-sound editing and mix, music composition and/or needle drops and colour correction. Students are expected to hit the deliverables and deadlines set out by the Final Projects(Web-Series) Post-Production schedule.
Students develop a deeper knowledge of the specific work done in post-production houses while also refining the creative perspective of the editing process. Students learn about the role of the Editor, cutting trailers, prepping for a colour timing session, and how genre influences the editing process. The major assignment for this course is the complete editing of a Bollywood web series made by them.

ADOBE PREMIRE PRO
Learn more about color grading footage directly on your editing timeline using professional-quality color grading tools in Premiere Pro.
Premiere Pro provides professional quality Color Correction tools that let you edit footage directly on your timeline.
You can find the color and luminance adjusting effects in the Color Correction bin inside the Video Effects bin.
Color correction adjustments are used for several reasons:
Modify footage so that clips appear to be shot under the same conditions.
Adjust colors in a clip so it appears to have been shot at night instead of the day.
Adjust the exposure of an image to recover details from the over-exposed highlights.
Enhance a color in a clip to add graphic elements.
Restrict colors in a clip to a particular range, such as the broadcast-safe range.
You can learn to adjust color, contrast, and light in your sequences in new and innovative ways. With editing and color grading working hand in hand, you can freely move between editing and grading tasks without the need to export or launch a separate grading application.

PLAY-WELL WITH OTHERS
Create compositions in After Effects and use Dynamic Link to eliminate intermediate rendering in AdobePremiere Pro. Import from Photoshop, Illustrator, and more. Collaborate with others using Frame.io and integrate with solutions from 300+ hardware and software partners.
THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN'T CREATE WITH AFTER EFFECTS
Create cinematic movie titles, intros, and transitions. Remove an object from a clip. Start a fire or make it rain. Animate a logo character. Even navigate and design in a 3D space. With After Effects, the industry-standard motion graphics and visual effects software, you can take any idea and make it move. Set anything in motion with keyframes or expressions.

VFX
VFX
The Chroma key technique is the process by which a specific colour is removed from an image, allowing that portion of the image to be replaced. This colour can be any solid colour, most commonly blue or green.
You'll learn chroma key effect in this course & all students will get 6-8 assignments to enhance their skills. It will help you create a scene which is not present in reality however, with the help of your faculty you can learn to create perfect mise-en-scene.
The technique has been used in many fields to remove a background from the subject of the video, particularly in the newscasting, motion picture, and video game industries.
The chroma keying technique is commonly used in video production and post-production. The biggest challenge when setting up a blue screen or green screen is even lighting and the avoidance of shadow because it is best to have as narrow a colour range as possible
being replaced.

Students explore the FIVE key disciplines of filmmaking during the year.
Directing
Cinematography
Producing
Production Design
Post-Production
